A good turnout, lovely weather, loads of food, cheery conversations, children playing, live music. A lovely day. And thanks to very kind donors, some lovely raffle prizes drawn by an expert band of young people.
Thanks in particular to Jake who pulled out the winning ticket for a night’s splendid accommodation and breakfast at the Rubens Hotel, and to the hotel’s kind donation of both this an a meal in their Curry Room. Local restaurants Valentinos and Hei Hing donated meals, as did our local pub the Ailsa. Thanks are also due to Surya who will be giving a Yoga and a Music Lesson to two lucky winners. What with a Denbies Estate voucher and a session at the St Margaret’s Foot Clinic, this was a cornucopia of delight, and a sign of the vibrancy of our local community and local church working together.

Meet at 10.30am at ‘Capri House’, 63 Percy Rd TW7 7HD (through alleyway next to Talbot Rd bridge and turn R).
There will be opportunities for exploring the River, getting damp and muddy or just looking! The evening rounds off with a riverside BBQ. Full details at this link.

Four years ago, the Association marked the centenary of the start of the First World War with a series of events which were centred around the names of local people who died during that terrible conflict.
It is proposed to commemorate the end of that War with a performance of poetry, prose and song on 11 November 2018, which is a Sunday. It will be a community event, as it was before, and if you would like to participate in it, please get in touch, particularly if you would like to sing, or get involved in stage or sound management.
We are also raising money to pay for sound equipment, and if you know of a local sponsor, please get in touch.
In any event, please put the date in your diaries.
The Association has relaunched its website. The link is: nsmra.org/
